I am pleased to have found this Ning group because I've been interested in "journey mapping" for many years. In the graphic below you can see how I've mapped the growth of the organization I now lead, from 1965 when it was started by a small group of volunteers from the Montgomery Ward Corporate headquarters in Chicago. I joined that program in 1973 and became its volunteer leader in 1975. This
link takes you to the concept map.

This is just one example of how I use visualization to map ideas. See many more examples in the
Tutor/Mentor Institute web site articles and in my
blog articles.
In coming weeks as I begin my journey through this web site and new network of people, I'll add a few more charts and maps that show how my maps and journey focus on a purpose. As we discuss this information, one idea I think will be important to all of us is how most people are wondering through life, without a single over-riding since of purpose, or maybe with many different goals, but no long-term purpose. What this means to me is that there are many "intersections" where we might meet these people, and invite them to travel along the road maps we are creating.
It's exciting to think of what might result from creating more of these intersections, and more traffic along the highway.
